Evaluation of product information exchange for light environments

Introduction

The building industry's highly complex products are predominantly aggregations of products realised by the manufacturing industry. In the preceding Map4Light Opens in new window. project, a prototype was implemented. Product data concerning light-related products are automatically transferred from manufacturers' databases to light simulation tools used by lighting designers and architects. Where in the Map4Light prototype tools were used to generate light environment proposals, in the Eval4Light project, additional software tools will be used for evaluation of such proposals. The use of these tools enables assessment of the light environment regarding energy performance and the effect on human health and well-being (vision/beyond vision).
