The Research Fund
An important condition for implementing the JTH project and developing the School of Engineering into a technical university with the right to award doctoral degrees in technology has been the support from the region.
Support from the region
Through the JTH association, the region has contributed to the funding of research at the School of Engineering during the period 2002-2010. Through the basic funding, the university's research fund, research and postgraduate education have reached a level of approximately SEK 50 million per year.
The research fund covered a total of approximately SEK 200 million during the period and was financed in equal parts by the business community mainly in the county (through the Chamber of Commerce, private companies, foundations and industry associations), the public sector in the county (through the County Council, County Administrative Board and the municipalities in the region), and Jönköping University.
