Charlotte Karlsson is a trained pediatric nurse and PhD student in disability science. Her doctoral project is part of the research program Mental Health and participation in Habilitation for children and young people with Disabilities (CHILD-PMH).

Charlotte's project is about increasing children's and primary caregivers' participation and engagement in the various stages of the habilitation process, from mapping the child's disability to evaluating the efforts carried out within a Child and Adolescent Habilitation Centre.

Charlotte is a member of the interprofessional research environment CHILD at Jönköping University, which conducts nationally leading and internationally recognized research on children in need of special support. It is an interdisciplinary environment that examines children's needs, development, and future.
