Kåre Karlsson
Research
Kåres research focus on the ambulance staff's working environment in Sweden. One aim is to survey how the health for the personnel seems to be compared to other professionals in Sweden. Another aim is whether ther are identifiable factors that affect the working environment and their health. The first two studies focus on what happens in the body during emergency ambulance assignments and at a theoretical stress test. This is measured via biomedical measurement, heart rate and cortisol secretion. The third study is a registrer study in which the actual illness is examined using parameters such as sickness, diagnosis of disease, early retirement etc. The finishing fourth study is intended to be an interview study where findings from the three earlier studies will form the basis for the issue.
