  • Academic freedom in different countries


    Vezir Aktas at the School of Education and Communication at Jönköping University (JU) is a new associate professor (docent). He has been teaching and researching at JU for ten years and in March he took the step up to docent. Vezir Aktas’ research addresses issues that are important to all of us, researchers as well as the general public, namely that of research autonomy and freedom of expression. His research on academic freedom has attracted international attention.
  • Launch of industrial graduate school Smart Industry Sweden


    On March 15, the industrial graduate school Smart Industry Sweden will be launched. Sixteen doctoral students will contribute to industrial technology development for twelve Swedish companies. Jönköping University (JU) is one of five universities participating in Smart Sweden Industry.
  • New report: Children’s rights in parental support initiatives


    On 10 March, the Swedish Family Law and Parental Support Authority (MFoF) launched a new report about children’s rights in parental support initiatives written by Frida Lygnegård, researcher at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University. In connection with the launch of the report they also put out a webinar where Frida Lygnegård presents the result findings in the report.
  • Millions from the Kamprad Family Foundation to JU research


    This year's research grant from the Kamprad Family Foundation has been announced. A total of SEK 164 million have been granted to 34 projects - at about twenty Swedish universities, research institutes and county council regions. The projects are aimed at improving the quality of life for the elderly population. Researchers from Jönköping University are involved in a total of eight of the projects which have been granted funds.
