Tuition Fees at Jönköping University

At Jönköping University, the tuition fee for the entire study programme is divided into instalments like a payment plan. There are the same number of instalments as there are semesters in the study programme. Each instalment must be paid (and reached our bank) before the start of a new semester, even if a student needs to re-take classes and exams.

The following fees apply to programmes starting in 2023. The tuition fees vary depending on the school and programme.

Application fee

Students with citizenship in a country outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland are required to pay a SEK 900 (approximately EUR 100) application fee. You pay one application fee per admission period. The application fee is non-refundable.

Application period

Jönköping University offers a direct admission for international students. The application period is: October 17- May 2.

After placing an application, students should send all supporting documents directly to Jönköping University Admissions, within 2 weeks.

Note: If you are applying to multiple Swedish universities, you may prefer to use universityadmissions.se, the national admission system (which is open from October 16- January 15). However, if only applying to us, we strongly recommend our direct admission.

Payment

The application fee must be paid when the application is submitted.

Tuition fees are paid to the university directly. The tuition fee for the programme is divided into equal instalments; one instalment to be paid before each new semester. The first instalment of tuition fee should be paid within a few weeks once the student receives the Letter of Acceptance. The payment must reach the university before the application for a residency permit can be processed.

If an application for residence permit is not approved by the Swedish Migration Agency, you can apply for refund of the paid tuition fee instalment due to special reasons. Such refund is most often granted.

In Sweden, all offers of admission are considered preliminary until the student has paid the first instalment of his or her tuition fee.
