Title

Integrated Product Realisation for Sustainable Engineering

Abstract

Integrated product realisation is essential for enabling sustainable engineering as manufacturing companies move toward circular business models and face increasing regulatory demands. This field examines how effective integration between product and production development supports smooth industrialisation while advancing sustainability goals. The research highlights organisational methods, processes, and mechanisms that facilitate collaboration across diverse engineering disciplines, with boundary objects playing a key role in enhancing knowledge integration and shared understanding. Adopting a sociotechnical perspective, the work emphasises the interdependencies among people, processes, and technology that are necessary for sustainable engineering solutions. By promoting cohesive and knowledge-rich collaboration, integrated product realisation becomes a critical enabler for achieving sustainable and circular solutions within modern manufacturing.
