  • Record-breaking crowd welcomes spring


    On Walpurgis Night, Tuesday 30th April, the arrival of spring was celebrated in Hälsoparken. For the second year running, the festivities were co-organized by Jönköping University (JU) and the Jönköping Student Union, drawing over 900 students, staff, and other Jönköping residents to gather in the spring sunshine.

    28 April is International Work Environment Day. Jönköping University's President Måns Svensson has worked in various ways with issues related to working life and work environment, both in his research and in his management roles.   • New Honorary Doctors and Professors to give inaugural lectures


    On 4 May, the Jönköping University Academic Ceremony will take place. At the ceremony, 32 PhDs and two honorary doctors will be conferred, and eleven professors will be inaugurated. This year, JU’s new President Måns Svensson will also be inaugurated.

  • UR gets help from JU researcher


    Seniorsurfarna Swedish Television is currently broadcasting the fourth season of the popular TV program "Seniorsurfarna". The program is produced by UR, an educational TV channel, and is using educational material developed by Ulli Samuelsson, Associate Dean of Education at the School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University (JU).
  • Research that empowers industry showcased at the SPARK conference


     Stefan Ericsson and Pernilla Wetter from Combitech attended the SPARK conference 2024. Research that strengthens the Swedish manufacturing industry was presented at the SPARK conference at the School of Engineering (JTH) at Jönköping University (JU) on 18 April.“Our collaboration with JTH is extremely important to us. This is where we find our future workforce and we take part in research projects at the school in our daily activities,” says Pernilla Wetter, Consultant Manager at Combitech.The SPARK Award was awarded to the IDEAL research project at JTH.
  • The winning team of the Entrepreneurship Challenge brought home SEK 60,000.


    On Wednesday, April 17, it was time for the final of the JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge 2024 at Jönköping University (JU). The competition was held for the 13th time, challenging students to solve a hands-on and real-life problem from a company. This year, the challenge was provided by Hide-a-lite, a brand within Elektro Elco AB, which tasked the students with developing a resource-efficient and innovative concept for AI-enabled LED lighting products. The students competed for a total prize pool of SEK 130,000, donated by the Aktiestinsen Foundation.
  • Significant increase in national applications to Jönköping University


    studenter The number of first-hand applicants to Jönköping University (JU) has increased significantly this year. In total, the number of first-hand applicants to programmes has increased by 14 per cent compared to last year. The most popular programmes for the autumn semester at JU are social work, civilekonom , and nursing. This is shown by figures from the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) after the national spring admission round closed at midnight on Monday, 15 April.
  • Spring Inspiration 2024 was a success - in a new venue


    On Saturday 13 April, it was time for this year's arrangement of Scandinavia's largest student-run fashion show. The event was organized by the Jönköping International Business School’s (JIBS) student association for the 27th time and it also involved students from the other schools at Jönköping University (JU).
