Accelerated alloy design strategies for industrial applications
Alloy design and subsequent alloy selection is becoming increasingly more complex with the introduction of new alloy design strategies and new commercially available alloys. Accelerated alloy design methods have the potential to meet specific design criteria, such as increased strength, improved thermal stability, or lower density by implementing new alloy design concepts coupled with high-throughput screening.
This webinar will address advancements in alloy design, based on the high entropy concept, and thermodynamic modelling for high-throughput screening of large compositional regions. This will be coupled with the application of ICME for alloy selection within industrial applications.
Date: Dec. 16, 2020
Time: 10:00-11:00 (+ 30 min group discussion)
After attending this webinar you will know more about:
- Advancements in alloy design strategies and the high entropy concept
- High throughput screening of large compositional spaces
- Applications of models, such as solid solution hardening and stacking fault energy
- Application of ICME for alloy selection
This webinar is specifically useful for Alloy designers, research engineers within metals. Anyone working within the design and application of alloys, with a focus on high performance applications is welcomed.
