Manage the Damage: A Holistic Approach to Metal Quality
High integrity castings are growing in importance as the use of castings will find its way to more and more challenging applications. The new requirements on strengths, ductility and porosity management are dramatically increasing. To control the cost of high integrity casting production, an overall quality engineering system that ensures the incoming metal quality, in-process liquid metal quality and finally outgoing casting quality is needed.
This webinar will address how a dashboard that shows the overall quality performance of aluminum foundries can be developed. How to use hydrogen strategically to determine the true quality of aluminum will be discussed. Special emphasis will be given to “manage the damage” approach for liquid aluminum.
Date: Dec. 02, 2021
Time: 10:00-11:00 (+ 30 min group discussion and networking)
After attending this webinar you will know more about:
- How to assess the overall quality performance of an aluminum casting operation
- How to use hydrogen to determine the true quality of the liquid metal
- How to “manage the damage’ given to liquid aluminum
This webinar is specifically useful for designer, producer and users of Al component industries. Everyone with interest in Al casting but with a particular focus on those involved in the daily production of aluminum castings.
