JU is always happy to welcome students from one of our valued Partner Universities to study with us for one or two semesters. Below you will find information about the application process as well as the pre-requisites for exchange studies.

The exchange programme is open to students coming from one of JU's partner universities.

1. Students are nominated online by their home university to one of the four schools here at JU. JU sends the nomination link to the partner universities once the application period is open (around February and September).

2. Once the nomination is approved, the student will receive a link and information to complete the application online. For students that need to apply for a study permit or visa, it is important to complete the application as soon as possible to start the application process for the study permit.

During the application, students will need to do the following:

  • Upload passport copy and transcript of records from home university, digital copies are accepted. (The transcript of records is an official document issued by your home university, which includes courses and grades of previous and current higher education study).
  • Choose the courses from the school that you have been nomination to, to study during your exchange semester.
  • Send in a signed JU course confirmation, confirming your choice of courses by your home university.
  • It is important to complete the application before the relevant deadline.
  • Once you have sent in the application, it can take a few weeks to be processed and you will then be able to download a Letter of Acceptance.

Academic calendar

For more information about our Academic Calendar at JU, please check: Academic Calendar.

***For exchange students during the autumn semester, many courses finish before Christmas. Please make sure to check your dates before organising your trip home.***

JU is improving the way we deliver the official Transcript of Records to you. After the completed exchange semester, students will receive an e-mail with a link to their digital original transcript that they will be able to download and share with their home university and any other institution required. The digital transcript will include a verification link that can be used to authenticate the transcript.

There are many benefits of this new process including online verification and quicker processing times. If the home university requires an original transcript of records to be sent via e-mail or post, please contact incoming.student@ju.se at the end of the exchange semester to request a copy.
