Iron Melting Process and Slag Formation Mechanisms
In order to have a final casting first of all there is necessary to have a molten metal. For this purpose there are used the melting furnaces. In this webinar we will discuss the different types of furnaces used for melting cast iron and steel. At the same time we will discuss about the charge calculation. Discussing about this we reach to one of the questions that maybe you have: Why materials selection is critical not only in terms of physical and mechanical properties, but also in the way a given material interacts with the design parameters?
Date: Feb. 25, 2021
Time: 10:00-11:00 (+ 30 min group discussion and networking)
After attending this webinar you will know more about:
- Different types of melting processes/furnaces
- The main requirements for achieving a good charge material
- Related research and development activities at JTH
